How far will they go in search of nectar their first day in a new hive in a place they’ve never been? Honeysuckle ten feet from the hive should open any minute, lilacs are full, salvias and penstemons beginning. They will find this place welcoming. My life will be complete. Or at least my garden will be.

I have been growing flowers for bees for fifteen years but only realized this had been my purpose last year. So this year I acquired bees.

I acquired bees just this night. A sublime sense of accomplishment, bringing home a swarm of wild bees.
